What we install
Communal blocks, offices and commercial units all have different problems. Here’s what we fit and when.
See and speak to whoever's at the door before you let them in. Suits tenements, communal blocks and offices with a single controlled entrance.
Straightforward access control for staff and residents, with the ability to cancel a lost fob rather than rekeying an entire building.
Fingerprint entry where fobs and codes keep getting shared, lost or passed around — typically higher-security areas and staff-only zones.
Manufacturers we work with regularly and know properly, so the system is configured well rather than just powered up.
Failing handsets, an obsolete panel or a system nobody has the codes for any more. We'll assess it and tell you whether it's repairable.
We install those too, so entry, cameras and detection can work together under one supplier and one point of contact.
How it works
Communal and commercial buildings need coordinating. We handle that.
We look at the entrances, the existing wiring, and how residents or staff actually move through the building.
An itemised written quote covering equipment, installation and any ongoing maintenance.
Scheduled to minimise disruption, with access arranged in advance for communal and multi-occupancy buildings.
Fobs and users configured, staff or residents shown how it works, and a servicing schedule agreed.
Why Vigile
Design, installation and maintenance in-house, so nothing falls between contractors.
Factored estates, tenements and housing association stock, where coordinating access is half the job.
Vetted, insured engineers working to relevant British Standards.
A failed entry system locks people out of their own building. We treat that as urgent.

Coverage
Based in West Dunbartonshire with engineers throughout the Central Belt, covering Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
Often just the panel or the handsets. Existing cabling can frequently be reused, which keeps the cost down considerably. The survey tells us which, and we'll say so honestly.
Door entry is about letting visitors in — someone presses a buzzer and you decide. Access control is about managing who can get in on their own, using a fob, code or fingerprint. Most buildings want both.
On a networked system, yes — an administrator deactivates it in the software and it stops working on every door immediately. Standalone systems vary: some need an engineer to remove the token at the reader. We'll tell you which you're getting, and why, at the survey.
Regularly. We're used to coordinating access, working around residents and dealing with factors and housing associations rather than a single owner.
It depends on the number of doors, the number of users and whether existing cabling can be reused. We survey first and quote in writing, itemised, free and with no obligation.
