What we install

Door entry and access control, to your building's specifiications

Communal blocks, offices and commercial units all have different problems. Here’s what we fit and when.

Types of Door Entry Systems We Install

  • Audio and video door entry

See and speak to whoever's at the door before you let them in. Suits tenements, communal blocks and offices with a single controlled entrance.

  • Keypad, fob and proximity card

Straightforward access control for staff and residents, with the ability to cancel a lost fob rather than rekeying an entire building.

  • Biometric access control

Fingerprint entry where fobs and codes keep getting shared, lost or passed around — typically higher-security areas and staff-only zones.

  • Paxton and Videx systems

Manufacturers we work with regularly and know properly, so the system is configured well rather than just powered up.

  • Replacing a tired existing system

Failing handsets, an obsolete panel or a system nobody has the codes for any more. We'll assess it and tell you whether it's repairable.

  • Integration with CCTV and alarms

We install those too, so entry, cameras and detection can work together under one supplier and one point of contact.

How it works

How an installation runs

Communal and commercial buildings need coordinating. We handle that.

  1. Site survey

We look at the entrances, the existing wiring, and how residents or staff actually move through the building.

  2. Specification and quote

An itemised written quote covering equipment, installation and any ongoing maintenance.

  3. Installation

Scheduled to minimise disruption, with access arranged in advance for communal and multi-occupancy buildings.

  4. Handover and maintenance

Fobs and users configured, staff or residents shown how it works, and a servicing schedule agreed.

What Our Clients Say

We have used Vigile for a number of aspects for our business. They are very professional and knowledgeable. Have already recommended to others.
Hillview Inn · Hospitality
We have had a 100% positive experience with David Shaw and Andrew at Vigile. It is refreshing to receive prompt, polite and efficient service — David was utterly professional from the first enquiry through to the end of the job, and both he and Andrew were pleasant and diligent throughout. I absolutely recommend these two guys and wish them the best as they grow their business.
Jacinta Bennett · Facebook Review
Defo recommend! 5 star service and great communication — fitting cameras for our new shop.
Stephanie Liddell · Retail
The boys did a fab job for us — very tidy work, and they removed all the old wires from a previous job so we have no ugly wires hanging everywhere. Fab price, and very easy to access the cameras on our phones and TV. You won't be disappointed with this company.
Linda Mather · Residential
Had a fantastic experience with Vigile Fire & Security Ltd! They installed three outdoor cameras and a full internal alarm system at my property. The team was professional, efficient, and took the time to walk me through everything. The quality of the equipment is excellent, and I feel much safer knowing my home is protected. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliable security solutions!
Aidan Madden · Residential
We just had all our pubs and other properties' fire extinguishers serviced and maintained, and they will be taking on all our alarm systems once they become due to renew. Also supporting a new local company — well done and good luck, guys!
Allan Wright · Hospitality · Multi-site
Great service!

Brilliant service from start to finish. David came out, assessed the job, gave a quote, turned up on time, replaced the camera, and what more could you ask for. Thank you.

Door entry and access control questions

Book a free survey

Often just the panel or the handsets. Existing cabling can frequently be reused, which keeps the cost down considerably. The survey tells us which, and we'll say so honestly.

Door entry is about letting visitors in — someone presses a buzzer and you decide. Access control is about managing who can get in on their own, using a fob, code or fingerprint. Most buildings want both.

On a networked system, yes — an administrator deactivates it in the software and it stops working on every door immediately. Standalone systems vary: some need an engineer to remove the token at the reader. We'll tell you which you're getting, and why, at the survey.

Regularly. We're used to coordinating access, working around residents and dealing with factors and housing associations rather than a single owner.

It depends on the number of doors, the number of users and whether existing cabling can be reused. We survey first and quote in writing, itemised, free and with no obligation.
