Who we are

Vigile Fire & Security Ltd (“Vigile”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a fire safety and security company based at 15 Second Avenue, Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire, G83 9BH, Scotland. What information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

• Enquiry and quote form — when you request a free quote or otherwise contact us through vigile.co.uk, we collect your name, email address, phone number, property/business type, the service you’re interested in, and any message you choose to include.
• Website usage data — we use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and for how long. This is only collected once you have accepted analytics cookies — see our Cookies Policy.
• Spam prevention — our enquiry form uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect against automated spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA may collect hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and send this to Google for analysis.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

• respond to your enquiry and provide a free, no-obligation quote;
• arrange site surveys and deliver our fire and security services, where you choose to proceed;
• keep a record of enquiries for our own business purposes;
• improve our website and services, using aggregated analytics data.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Our legal basis for processing

We process your enquiry details on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to enquiries you have made) and, where you go on to become a customer, in order to perform a contract with you. Who we share information with

We may share information with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, including:

• Google (Google Analytics/Site Kit and reCAPTCHA) — see Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service;
• Microsoft (Microsoft 365, for our business email);
• Hostinger (our website hosting provider).

These providers only process data as necessary to provide their service to us, and are bound by their own data protection obligations. We do not share your data with anyone else unless required to by law.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless you become a customer, in which case we retain relevant records for as long as required by our accounting, tax and insurance obligations (normally up to 6 years). Analytics data is retained in line with Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate data;
• ask us to delete your data;
• restrict or object to our processing of your data;
• request a copy of your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
